My Story

From an early age, I was interested in drawing dresses and making clothes for my own dolls.

My sisters loved asking me for advice on how to style themselves. As I grew up, I usually drew the dresses I wanted to wear, and my mum would take me to a seamstress to have them made.

I have always dressed in a different way to those around me. I love feeling both comfortable and stylish,  as well as combining elements from different decades.  I enjoy being unique, and passionate about making and wearing timeless accessories.

I have a degree in Fashion Design, specialising in Clothing, and have worked for many years with well known Venezuelan fashion designers specialists in haute couture.

After becoming a mum for the second time and having two young children at home, I didn’t have the time to work on designing and making clothes, but I always felt the need to do something creative. Thanks to a close friend, who introduced me to jewellery making, I started playing and experimenting with it. The more time I spent on it, I felt that my creativity was developing a different way to express itself.  After making many necklaces for myself, and having people complementing them on several occasions, I felt encouraged to make jewellery to sell.  My designs were bespoke and each piece has its own style. I combine different materials and textures (gemstones, wood, glass, acrylic, resin, clay, cooper, sterling silver, metal), as well as textures, colours.  It was fun to use my knowledge of fashion and haute couture on my jewellery designs. I liked to create pieces that are both functional and beautiful.

I Lived In the Middle East (Kuwait), UK (Scotland), Africa (Angola) and now settled back in the UK (Cambridge).

Having lived in different countries and continents influence the way I see my creative world and off course my designs.  After 7 yrs break I decided to come back to work with clothes again and undusted my Fashion & Haute Couture skills, I currently work in Cambridge as Bridal Designer by the name of Gioconda Gomez ; I'm not only making beautiful gowns for brides, but also measure special garments for any special occasion. I got more than 20 yrs of experience working with haute couture, as a tailor and as a fashion designer in the design department of a mass production company in Venezuela.

I discovered I have a passion to teach and love to pass on all my classic haute couture skills to new generations; so in 2018 I decided to start teaching kids, young people and adults how to sew in a very creative and professional way.
